Where your Registration Fees Go

Assuming a player registration fee of $95 for the season, the graph below shows a break down of how that fee applies to actual costs.

2010 Funding

Because of the size of the club in relation to available fields at local schools, Salmon Creek Soccer makes heavy use of public parks, notably Felida and HB Fuller, and thus pays proportionally higher field costs. The players benefit from high quality fields, particularly at Felida.

Note that none of this fee applies to the development or construction of our planned FieldTurf surface at HB Fuller Park. This field, currently in the planning phase, will require a separate capital campaign for construction.

2010 Fees

The only sources of revenue for Salmon Creek Soccer Club have historically been player fees and proceeds from an annual auction.

Over the last few years the proceeds from the auction have been steadily declining and we have been receiving more feedback from parents complaining about the need to create auction baskets.

At the same time, the costs of irrigation water, seeding, fertilizing, mowing, aeration, field paint, nets, and referee services have gone up. Over the last 15 years, these costs have more than doubled, while registration fees have increased just 20%.

As a result of the declining interest in the Auction and the need for the club to cover actual expenses, the board voted in 2007 to abandon the Auction (meaning no Auction Baskets and associated Auction Basket donations) and raise registration and sponsorship fees. Fee increases are generally in proportion to the cost impacts of the play level, with older players who have demands for larger fields and higher cost referees increasing more than younger players.

Again, in 2010, the board has elected to NOT raise registration fees, which will make sponorship contributions that much more important.

Scholarships

As in past years, the club strives to insure that players will not lose out because of financial need. Contact the Registrar for information on scholarships.

Donations

While registration fees cover routine operating expenses, there are many expenses that the club relies on donations for. Items like goals, field improvements and scholarships depend on the generous donations of parents and other community members. When registering, please take time to consider making additional donations to your club.
